It is a new year…I remember vividly when I gathered for the “crisis of 2000” and my partner at the time and I huddled together, just in case it was the end of the world, as some folks were forecasting. But, alas, it was not! And, here we are (here I am) 16 years later, determining once again how I would like to spend this very precious new year.
I have given up “resolutions” and ideas that I will somehow become someone new at the start of a new year. I realize I am the same person I was just moments before the ball dropped, the fireworks emerged, and the champagne toasts. And, yet, I still have “the questions…”
The “how would I like to be in this new year?” “What would bring me the greatest joy?” “What are the longings that have remained unfulfilled and in this year, how may I manifest what I most desire?”
And, even more, “how can I allow myself to let go of the shame, envy, jealousies, and insecurities I carry within me from the years prior?” I’d like a supremely fresh start equipped with less emotional baggage, worry, anxiety, and sadness. And, I’d like to believe this is possible.
Have you considered recently what it is you would like to REMAIN in 2015? Your deepest longing for 2016? You have a brand new set of days, a whole new set of starry nights, and quiet mornings. How would you like to spend them? And, what joys might you like to manifest in your own life?
